500 Uniben Student Shot Dead Inside Campus

Gunmen rumoured to be cultists on Friday have killed a 500 level student of the University of Benin, UNIBEN inside the school premises.

FOLKS AFRICA gathered that the victim, an engineering student of the institution was gun-downed at the Faculty of Physical Sciences axis of the campus.

The cause of the incident could not be immediately ascertained.

UNIBEN VIEW, a page on ‘X’ known to provide information about the school broke the news on

Friday evening

According to a statement on the page, All Gates (Main Gate, Small Gate, Anatomy Gate & Back Gate) are currently shut following the incident.

The incident was said to have caused fear among students in the institution.

Just in April, a final-year student of the school simply identified as Desmond was also shot dead in his room at the Hall 3 Hostel by unknown gunmen in what appeared like a cult-related incident.

The Public Relations Officer of the University, Dr. Benedicta Ehanire is yet to react to the latest incident as of press time.
